A swim facility
for coastal
Half Moon Bay
The Coastside Aquatics Center is a non-profit organization created by community members with a shared vision to promote safety, health, and wellness through aquatics. Our team is passionate about making this dream a reality and bringing the numerous benefits of an aquatic center to our coastside community.

Water Safety for All
Promoting the importance of water safety in our community
Teach Swimming Skills
Swimming competencies are an essential life skill that must be taught to everyone, especially in the Half Moon Bay Coastside coastal towns. Studies have shown that essential life skills vary among ethnic groups. We need an aquatics center that can serve our community's needs by providing equal opportunities for all members of our diverse population.
Teach Beach/Ocean Safety
Since we live by the ocean, enjoying our beaches goes hand in hand with water safety. Serious accidents on the local beaches are too frequent. We are all familiar with the sound of the Coast Guard helicopter searching for victims who have misjudged the surf, ventured unwisely into the water, or fallen into the waves during rock climbing. Our waters are treacherous, and those unfamiliar with our surf are at risk.

Community Benefits

Swimming Lessons
At Coastside Aquatics Center, we believe that everyone should have access to swimming lessons. That's why we will offer lessons for all ages and skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced swimmer, young or old, our programs will be designed to help you improve your technique, increase your fitness, and have a great time in the water.

Health & Wellness
Swimming offers wellness benefits through exercise and fitness. A new facility would address many health needs and issues for our community.
Swimming and exercise therapy can help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression in men, women, and children.

Support Our Athletes
Half Moon Bay High School's current pool is over 60 years old. It cannot support competitive swimming and water polo meets.

Recreational Fun
A modern pool facility would bring together our community with programs for all ages. Groups like our Boys and Girls Club, Maverick's Swimming Association, and other community organizations, would benefit.
